What is Pecha Kucha?

By Forest YoungDirector of Brand Integration I am getting that question a lot this week as I prepare to take part in my first Pecha Kucha Night held this Wednesday at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville. As a presenter, I had to quickly familiarize myself with this unique format for delivering a creative presentation. The constraints: show 20 slides for 20 seconds apiece (20 x 20) for a total length of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. A couple of my friends had taken part in Pecha Kucha Nights in New York City and Seoul but I needed to refresh my memory about the history and finer points of PK...

Give Plants a Chance

Orlando Farmers Market came to Push with the dilemma of decreasing attendance and little money to do anything about it. We felt that printing paper ads and flyers contradicted the Farmers Market’s environmentally friendly nature. So being Push, we took a step back and thought about the problem differently. We came to the conclusion that the biggest victim of no one showing up at the downtown Farmers Market wasn’t the Farmers Market, its vendors or even its entertainment. The biggest victim was all the really cool stuff for sale that was being neglected at best, and rotting to a slow, nasty death at worst. The plants were wilting. The fruits were rotting. The popcorn was staling. And the only place the fresh squeezed lemonade, fresh brewed coffee and fresh tapped beer were flowing was right down the drain. We, along with the Farmers Market, couldn’t stand by and watch the suffering any longer. . .

Tijuana Flats Website Revamped

Push recently revamped Tijuana Flats' Webby Award-winning website to allow for more frequent updates and more dynamic content. The updates allow the background of the homepage to change so the website's look and feel corresponds with each Tijuana Flats in-store promotion. This way visitors will receive the same message from the website that they see inside the restaurants. Additional updates include an interactive guestbook where visitors can submit a drawing with their comments and quirky E-cards that can be sent to invite friends to lunch.

Smack My Ass and Call Me...an Employee

At Push we believe in truly understanding the ins and outs of our clients’ business by being as involved as possible. This month we threw our Tijuana Flats team to the weeds of a busy lunch shift.Three Pushers spent the day greeting guests, delivering food, busing tables and bagging to-go orders. After their busy lunch shift, the team returned to Push with a few hot sauce stains on their shirts, but more importantly, a better understanding of the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. This experience will most definitely be helpful as the team begins planning upcoming promotions and marketing plans for the restaurant.
