Using the same shovel from UCF's first groundbreaking in the 1960s, university officials broke ground on Tuesday for the UCF College of Medicine, part of The Burnham Institute for Medical Research. The 600-acre site, expected to be the future home of a VA Hospital and Nemours Children's Hospital, will anchor a major life sciences cluster within Lake Nona. It is estimated to bring $6.4 billion per year to the Central Florida economy.
