Senior Copywriter

A Senior Copywriter at Push is responsible for conceptualizing big, bold, creative ideas and writing smart, compelling, on-brand copy for our clients. They also oversee the full production process of their projects to ensure the highest quality creative work is produced on time and budget. Senior Copywriters work on both large, in-depth projects such as full-scale multimedia campaigns and pitches, and smaller, ongoing daily deliverables for our clients. Overseeing junior writers and copy interns is also their responsibility, so Senior Copywriters must have the ability, patience and interest in teaching and leading. Experience writing for restaurants, higher education, healthcare and retail sales is a plus.

Senior Copywriters at Push must have:

  • A strong creative portfolio. Big ideas. Great writing. All mediums. All media. All awesome.
  • Proven agency experience. Minimum of 3-5 years in an advertising, branding or design firm, BUT portfolios speak louder than resumés. Stellar work trumps time served. Always.
  • Writes Words. Good ones. Memorable ones. Clever ones. Award-winning ones.
  • Has Ideas. Lots of them. Gets to them quickly. Talks about them passionately.
  • Works well with others. Specifically art directors, other writers and account people.
  • Ace presenter. Must be able to masterfully present work internally and externally.
  • Thick skin. Must be able to take criticism in stride and return to the well as needed.
  • Design skills and knowledge a plus. Design interest and appreciation a must.
  • Self-starter. Works independently as needed and doesn’t wait for others to gain understanding or generate ideas.
  • Team-minded. Looks out for others and helps out as needed. With and without being asked.
  • Hard worker. Down for the occasional late night or weekend work if the project or situation warrants it.
  • Curious. Must want to learn more about projects/assignments/clients and ask questions without hesitation.
  • Pop culture enthusiast. Keeps eyes and ears to the street and the interwebs to know what’s happening in the world.
  • Does things. Travels. Has hobbies. Goes to concerts. Has interests and life experiences outside of work that improves skills, approaches and mood at work.
  • Isn’t easily offended. The occasional F-bombs get dropped. Tequila shots get taken. Beers get drunk. While no one has to partake in these endeavors, they happen. Don’t hate them.
  • Takes ownership. Sees projects through to completion and owns them every step of the way.
  • Knowledgable and experienced in production. All mediums, but especially video.
  • Works well under pressure. Must be able to keep a cool head when things heat up.
  • Hits deadlines. Knows how to use a calendar, respect schedules and hit deadlines.
  • Has a sense of humor. Doesn’t have to be a stand up comedian, but should enjoy laughing at things, including themselves.
